Hours:
You will be required to work a minimum of 40 hours per week over a minimum of 5 days per week. This will include working two weekends per month, exact days and hours of working will vary on a week-by-week basis according to the needs of the business and as agreed with the Cask & Whisky Sales Manager and the ADG Commercial Director & General Manager.
Job Summary
As the Assistant Cask & Whisky Sales Manager, you will assist in the successful implementation and execution of a sales strategy built upon achieving the annual budgeted targets for bottled and bulk product to UK and international markets. You will remain vigilant in maintaining a progressive and fully functional sales environment whilst bringing your expertise to all sales staff and provide on the job training alongside the Cask & Whisky Sales Manager, ADG Commercial Director & General Manager and ADG Marketing & PR Manager to raise the effectiveness of the sales team and general standards.
Main Duties;
- Ensure that each sales department achieves its monthly/annual sales targets.
- Develop and execute strategies to improve the achievements of sales targets in conjunction with the Cask & Whisky Sales Manager and ADG Commercial Director & General Manager.
- Ensure compliance with sales and customer service best practices.
- Help manage sales budgets, analyse market and customer data to identify sales trends and oversee the sales team efficiency.
- Be focused on developing and mentoring the sales team, coordinating sales operations and implementing sales techniques that allow the business to meet and surpass its sales targets consistently.
- Assist with setting targets, assigning sales plans, identify priorities and eliminate redundant activities.
- Work with Cask & Whisky Sales Manager and ADG Commercial Director & General Manager on high profile customers, evaluate budgets and determine ways to simplify and improve the sales process.
- Assist with writing the monthly sales reports focused on final NET GP.
- Keep an eye on competitors and use the information to improve sales development and market expansion.
- Take part in negotiations of sales contracts.
- Assess products and services costs and advise on marketing strategies to increase the customer base.
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans that expand the company’s customer base and solidify its presence alongside the Cask & Whisky Sales Manager and ADG Commercial Director & General Manager
- Achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully managing the sales team and by assessing the teams strengths and weaknesses whilst successfully completing new sales opportunities.
- Establishing productive and professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts
- Build and promote healthy, long-lasting customer relations by designing programmes to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Help develop and implement new sales initiatives, strategies and programmes to capture key demographics along side the Cask & Whisky Sales Manager, ADG Commercial Director & General Manager and ADG Marketing & PR Manager.
- Establishing best practices and enforcing compliance with industry regulations
- Help to create and host training programmes for the sales team.
- Monitoring supply and demand and keep in regular communication with the Distribution and Logistics department.
- Assist in forecasting and creating annual sales targets to determine sales objectives along side the Cask & Whisky Sales Manager.
- Maintain a documented sales, training, strategic and reporting system that can be used on an annual basis to focus and drive the sales department to achieve the company budgeted targets.
- Work with the UK Trade Sales Advocate to find new distributors and on and off trade accounts in which to sell bottled products.
- Work with the International Brand Ambassador to secure profitable routes to new international markets in which to sell bottled, casked and bulk products.
- Work with the Cask Sales Advocate to achieve regular sales of mature and fresh fill casks for continued maturation or bottling.
